Where to Look for a Qualified Plumber Near You

I could start this article post with a simple “google it” bit of advice, but there are many more ways to find a qualified plumber near you than just Googling for one. While we are on the topic of Google, it is essential that you read the reviews and not just click on the first “sponsored” link that comes up. Read the reviews and see if they provide accurate details about the person having experience with the plumber. Choose wisely.

Don’t forget that there are other ways to find qualified plumbers, such as services like “Angi” (formerly Angie’s List). Plumbers sign up and get verified with referral businesses like this one, and Angi does follow-up polling to see what people think of their service. Angi has an interest in referring clients to companies, but it also has an interest in referring people to credible businesses. After all, it has a reputation to uphold.

If you Google “licensed plumber in Melbourne, FL.” for instance, you will get served a mix of local Google Business listings as well as sites like Angie. It only makes sense to check out at least two or three different sources before contacting the plumbing company. We call this “due-diligence”.

Word of mouth is another good way to find a plumber. If your friend or neighbor has a plumber they have used for years, then what’s keeping you from using the same service? You trust your friend, so you should probably trust their judgment as well, right?

Put some feelers out on your social media account. Locals will happily chime in with referrals if they genuinely trust their plumber. In the end, they will be glad they could help you.

Hiring a plumber is not something that should be taken lightly. They are working on essential parts of your home, and the results can have long-term effects. If they are not licensed and insured, you may be on the hook for any damages they cause.
